Antique Oaxacan Wedding Earrings in 14k Gold
* * SOLD * *
A large and elaborate pair of antique Oaxacan wedding earrings, made in 14k yellow gold. These earrings date to the early part of the 20th century. Revealing the design influence of Moors, and Spanish colonials, the intricate filigree frames are covered with natural pearls, which are carefully pinned and tied to the curling base with thread-fine wire. Luminous pearls promenade around luminous pearls! Oaxacan wedding earrings from this early period are rarely made availible— this pair is so finely made and well preserved, they are almost heartbreaking in their precise manufacture. Earwires are extra long shepherds hooks, with a c shaped catch.
