Taxco Sterling Silver Green Agate Trumpet Flower Bracelet
* * SOLD * *
A vintage bracelet with five links that take the form of long, curvaceous leaves. Each link is decorated with a long-necked, trumpet-shaped flower that lays atop the leaf; the buds themselves are tapering, carved cylinders of dyed green agate. This design is especially charming, with realistic, but simplified forms— a modernist's vision of art nouveau/arts and crafts jewelry. This is marked MPO, 925, sterling silver, Taxco, Mexico.
Excellent. There is some dark residue around the base of the agates that I have chosen to leave intact (probably it is part of the epoxy used in the original setting process).
Trumpet flower elements measure approx 25.2 mm, end to end. Leaf-shaped links are approx 12 mm wide. Inside measures approx 7 3/4". Bracelet fits a 6 1/2" wrist.
This silversmith's mark is described in Bille Hougart's Little Book of Mexcian Silver, but the maker is, as of yet, unidentified.
