Large 1970s Modernist Pisces Charm with Textures in 14k Gold
* * SOLD * *
A large, 1970s, modernist, Pisces charm, highly dimensional and beautifully modeled in 14k gold. This pendant's two fish swim in opposite directions, but they remain connected by a gold ribbon. The pictorial symbol that represents pisces rests at the bottom of the composition, beneath these fish. All design elements have lovely depth, and the pendant's many contrasting textures— high-polish, satin, cross-hatched Florentine, and the rough, brutalist texture of the fishes' angular tails— make it especially dynamic. This is marked on the reverse: Depose, Belgium, with a maker's cartouche (BTF), and with 585 (for purity). It is also lightly engraved 2-22-70.
Measures approx 1"; the primary loops and large bail add approx 10.1 mm (about .4 inches).
