Mid 20th Century Red Coral Orb Ring
* * SOLD * *
A glamorous mid 20th century ring, modeled in platinum, whose primary gem is large, untreated, Sardinian coral orb. This glossy, deep red gem is set in the grip of four, tapering, claw-like prongs. A pair of white, round, brilliant cut diamonds decorate the ring's shoulders, flanking the red orb, and reflecting in its high-polished surface. The ring's half-round shank is pinched at the shoulder and it widens, like a ribbon, toward the base. We love this ring for its bold, graphic quality, and playful, exaggerated proportions! It is fun, and very flattering in wear. Marked for purity and with a style number.

It is difficult, if not impossible(!), to perfectly represent the color of corals in photographs, as coral has a unique way of holding light and shadow that resists capture. We have made every effort to be accurate, here. This coral is unmistakably red, in person. We would describe its color as oxblood red, or brick red— it is highly-saturated, vibrant and slightly earthy.
