Early Century Priday Plume Agate Fleur De Lis Ring in 10k Gold
* * SOLD * *
A 1920s agate specimen ring, featuring an very fine Priday plume agate cabochon. This agate has an earthen color at its base, that is interrupted by a visual fissure that reads like a root or a nexus— two large fan-like plumes grow or emerge from this point, branching out in pink, red, black, orange, lavender and brown within the translucent chalcedony field. I see a pair of fruit trees, or an eruption. The agate is held in a pillowy step bezel that is mounted atop a split shoulder shank. A small fleur de lis detail embellishes each shoulder. This is a striking ring, well suited to both men and women.
US 11. This ring can be re-sized, down to a US 6 1/2. To add resizing to your order please visit our services page.
Ring head measures approx 19.5 x 15.5 mm; rise is approx 7.5 mm; shank measures approx 9.7 mm at the shoulder and tapers to approx 2.5 mm at the base.
This ring has an Edwardian feel, but the agate variety dates it to the 1920s. Priday Plume Agate is no longer being mined and is highly valued by collectors.
