Delicate Georgian Floral Creature Garnet Ring in 15k Gold
* * SOLD * *
An antique, Georgian-era ring, modeled in 15k yellow gold and set with a rectangular table cut garnet. This little ring has ornately carved split shoulders and its decor is at once floral and creaturely. The ring shank is decorated with beautiful ribs. The garnet is set in a crimped bezel. This garnet has lovely color saturation, and the back of the setting is open— it's hard to say if it was made open (because the stone didn't need a foil enhancement, or if it was opened up later in it's life, to fix an issue with a foiled setting. This is an especially ephemeral little jewel.

This can be easily sized down; sizing up is not recommended (because of the carved lines that decorate the back of the shank).
Garnet measures approx 4.4 mm x 5.2 mm (bezel included in measurement); ring measures approx 6.1 mm at the shoulder and tapers to approx 1.3 mm at the back.
