Arts & Crafts Era Opal Ring with Oak Leaf Trinity Shoulders in 18k Gold
* * SOLD * *
A sublime Arts & Crafts era ring, modeled in 18k yellow gold, with finely-executed trios of oak leaves adorning its shoulders. These graceful symbols of patience and endurance flank the ring’s gem— an impressive, oval, 13+ carat, natural, translucent opal with intense, multi-colored fire. This opal is held in a heavy, many-scalloped bezel. Its body color is warm and earthen; its fire exhibits in red, yellow, and absinth-green, along with an area of blue and pink in the lower right quadrant. This one is a heartbreaker that really lights up in the sun. Its presence is much lovelier in person, as the subtleties of opals are very difficult to capture digitally. The ring's two-reed split shank tapers from the shoulder toward the base.
