An elaborate Art Deco era engagement ring, modeled in platinum, whose primary gem is a .78 carat Old European Cut diamond (F/G, VS2). This ring has a soft, tapering profile. Its soulful, hand-cut diamond nests in an octagonal set. Emanating like rays from the diamond's inter-cardinal points, four pairs of baguette cut, created, blue sapphires are set, edge-to-edge, in smooth channels. Pennant-shaped seats flank the primary diamond. Curling forms, above and below it, suggest urns. These delicate decor elements are all set with old cut and single cut diamonds. The ring's shoulders feature an elegant, coin-like, openwork motif. Its gallery is decorated with a series of small, openwork circles. The ring's half-round shank tapers toward the base. We love this ring's many "directional" elements, its soft, shapely form, and its relatively low profile. This would make a wonderful engagement ring!
