Nine Carat Yellow Sapphire Ring with Stepped Shoulders
* * SOLD * *
An antique ring set with a big, cheerful yellow sapphire. This old stone weighs 9.1 carats; it's earth-mined, and has not been enhanced with heat treatment. The setting is elegant and architectural, with stepped shoulders. The gem is mounted in a bulbous, tapering, open-back base. The bezel is decorated with a milgrain edge, and the sapphire is further secured with four tapering, claw-like prongs. Band tapers from the shoulders. Marked 14k.
Excellent. Sapphire is natural, L2, good polish/symmetry, per appraisal.
This ring can be easily re-sized; to add custom sizing to your order, visit our services page.
Ring face measures approx 16.6 mm x 14.5 mm. Rise (off finger) is 7.4 mm. Band tapers from 4.4 mm at the shoulder to 1.8 mm at the back.
I had this stone removed from the setting and re-cut, to crisp up the facets; carat weight is exact for this reason. A GIA certified appraisal is included with this ring— appraised value is $11,950.
