Anthony Kim Enameled Modernist Pendant in Sterling Silver & 18k Gold
* * SOLD * *
A whimsical modernist pendant by goldsmith Anthony Kim. This jewel is precisely executed and almost wildly experimental, designed with four sections that sit at different angles, like a folding screen. Two of these sections hold enameled panels— one describes a forest scene with a dry tree, a sprouting tree, and a clutch of mushrooms, the other is a field of bright blue enamel that holds a glittering cloud. This little cloud is pave set with ten white diamonds. The center section of the pendant, and the section that functions as a wide bail, are made of many, carefully arranged 18k yellow gold wires— in the center panel the wires come together in a concave, basket-like form. The bracing on the backside of the pendant allows it to sit on the chest at an ideal angle in wear. Signed A. Kim, '74.
18k yellow & white gold
Measures 1.2" high, from the top of the blue field to the bottom of the forest scene; bail section measures 1/2" high; width is approx 9/10".
