1920s Lapis Lazuli Signet Ring with Lancet Windows Decor in 14k Gold
* * SOLD * *
A striking 1920s signet ring, modeled in 14k yellow gold, and set with a vibrant, polished, octagonal slab of deep-blue lapis lazuli. The ring's weighty setting features exceptional, deeply-carved shoulder decor that recalls the ornate lancet windows of gothic churches. The bezel is decorated with matching decor. These carved details are very fine and realistically architectural— this would make a wonderful signet ring for someone interested in architecture or theology. This ring bears an inscription, in curling period script: O.F. 1929. It is marked with a 14 for purity, inside the maker's cartouche, alongside an anvil. The broad shank tapers dramatically toward the base. The lapis gem is freshly polished. This ring is well-suited to all genders.
US 7 1/2. This ring can be resized. To add resizing to your order (sizes 6 - 10 1/2), please visit our services page.
Ring face measures approx 17 x 13.5 mm; shank measures approx 12.8 mm at the shoulder and tapers to approx 5.35 mm at the base; rise is very low at approx 3.9 mm.
We have left the speckled surface wear on the outer ring shank, as it is charming, it shows the ring's age, and its original condition. We are happy to polish this out, if you prefer. Our photos exaggerate this texture.
