An extra-large, round, Victorian era locket, modeled in 14k rosy yellow gold, whose face is set with a single, large, matrix-webbed turquoise cabochon. This soulful, oval, blue-green gem is highly saturated, and its matrix is reddish-to-golden brown. This locket is clean, minimal, and almost contemporary felling— the earthy turquoise gem seems to float in the simple, gold pool of the locket face. The locket's reverse is hand-engraved with a large monogram, in period script

The locket's reverse is hand-engraved with a large monogram, in period script— this engraving appears to be a single letter (H), but when we removed the photo inside, we learned that it is actually the letters FC, for Florence Clark Dutton. This name is written on the backside of the locket's card-weight, sepia photo. The locket's original photo ring is present, as is the large oval bail. This locket is marked 14k for purity. It is a unique and especially wonderful object.

Condition is excellent. We are very happy to polish this, before shipping, if you do not prefer the original, gently-worn finish.
