A modernist necklace by the beloved Scandinavian designer Björn Weckström--- a study in contrast and contradiction. Its chain is constructed of long, textured, handmade links; its pearl-set pendant has an organic shape and texture that's reminiscent of tree bark. The contrast between the smooth, luminous pearls, and the rough texture of the pendant is striking and soulful. Visually both strong and delicate, this necklace is marked for Lapponia, Finland, and with the year of manufacture (1974).
