Victorian Hinged Turquoise Cluster Harem Stack Ring in 14k Gold
* * SOLD * *
A wide 14k rosy yellow gold ring, comprised of five slender, tapering bands that are joined together by a pinned hinge at the base. Each band is set with one or two small turquoise cabochons, that vary softly in color from green, to blue-green, to blue— these little gems each have a small amount of matrix, which makes them (upon close inspection) little worlds unto themselves. The gems are held aloft, in claw-like prong settings. This ring is an exercise in math and mechanics; the bands have been made to fit precisely together and to fan apart when you need a bit of magic in the parlor! The faces of the bands are etched with details that sparkle a little in the light. These older mechanical rings are wonderful and hard to come by. Entirely hand fabricated. Marked 14k.
c. 1890 - 1900
Excellent. The hinge is secure, and the bands fan apart with ease.
