Art Deco Minimalist Ceylon Sapphire & Diamond Ring in Platinum
* * SOLD * *
An antique, Art-deco era ring, whose focal stone is an outstanding, one-carat, medium-blue sapphire. In this classic platinum setting, the Ceylon sapphire (a slightly squared oval, or soft cushion) is seated in a pierced basket, and held secure in four prongs; it is flanked by a pair of long baguette diamonds, which are flanked by a pair of single cut diamonds— this arrangement creates the appearance of slender epaulettes on the ring's shoulders. The ring shank is slender, tapering from the shoulder in a shapely knife-edge. This sapphire has exceptional clarity and brilliance, and the minimalist setting lets the stone speak for itself. This would make a wonderful engagement ring, and its flat profile makes it an easy friend in a stack of rings.
