Victorian Amethyst, Carnelian, Lapis & Chrysoprase Egyptian Revival Fringe Necklace in 18k Gold
A Victorian-era fringe necklace with Egyptian sensibilities. The fringe is composed of gold pendant cages that hold gemstone spheres, in carnelian, chrysoprase and lapis. Amethyst beads function as spacers for these pendants, and complete the necklace round at the back. The centerpiece is a stacked bead drop with a long, carved carnelian tear. Closure is an s-shaped hook and eye. French origin. Pendants are 18k gold. S-hook is 12k gold (marked). A unique and dramatic Egyptian Revival piece— the combination of colors and the intense color saturation is spellbinding. Necklace comes with it's original, fitted, velvet-lined case.

Excellent. One little pendant has a gold disc at the base, which makes it very slightly different from the rest . . . probably this is an old addition, intended to bolster the pendant. Strong and ready to wear.
Straight length measures approx 17.5". Pendants measure approx 23.5 mm long; gemstone spheres measure approx 10.25 mm; centerpiece drop is approx 43 mm long. Wears close, at the collarbone. Fits necks 15" and smaller.
