Georgian Era Day & Night Trumpet Flower Drop Earrings in 18k Gold
* * SOLD * *
A dramatic pair of Georgian era "day and night" earrings, modeled in 18k yellow and rose gold, and decorated with ornate, spiraling, canatille wirework. The earring top, or day element, is flower-shaped, composed of eight, circular, wirework petals that surround a central, polished, rose gold half-sphere. These small tops can be worn with or without their ornate, trumpet-flower drops. The earrings' hinged earwires are back to front threading. The long drops terminate in a large, faceted, rose gold ball, that is made to fit snugly inside the flared trumpet ends. The complex and contrasting textural elements make this pair of earrings especially interesting. These bear early, somewhat opaque, French hallmarks.
Total length is approx 2 5/8"; tops measure approx 12.9 mm wide x 23.7 mm long (including earwire); drops measure approx 1 3/4" long x 14.4 mm (at the widest point).
