A charming pair of Art Deco era, long-drop earrings, modeled in 14k yellow gold, that feature a pair of carved, angel skin coral animals— a miniature pig, and a miniature elephant. These sweet friends hang below a pair of vertically-oriented gold bars. Each of these long bars is decorated with a subtle "rope-bound" detail. The compositions drop from substantially-made, screw-back tops, each decorated with a round, button-like, angel skin coral cabochon. This soft, variegated, pink coral is natural and untreated; the carved elements are beautifully rendered, and extra cute. These earrings are very unusual, and we especially love their subtle asymmetry! The pig and the elephant are both lucky animal symbols that figure prominently in Feng Shui, but perhaps there was some other, personal significance in this pairing, for the earrings' original owner. Marked 14k for purity.
