Victorian Natural Ruby & Diamond Star Bracelet in 15k Gold
* * SOLD * *
A Victorian-era, hinged, bangle bracelet, made in 15k yellow gold, and set with a natural ruby and a pair of old-cut white diamonds. The cushion cut ruby is a vibrant pinkish-red, with lovely clear translucence and a silken quality. The old mine cut diamonds are sparkly with nice high color. All of these gems are bead-set into charming, carved, star-shaped seats that decorate the long, cartouche-style face of the bangle. A row of gold beads function as spacers, holding the top and bottom flat wires apart from the bracelet face. The sides of this bangle are further embellished with fine, decorative wirework. This is a wonderful bracelet for stacking, and substantial enough to wear alone. Timeless and relevant and in exceptional condition.
Bracelet diameter is approx 2 3/8"; full inner perimeter measurement is approx 7 1/2". Bracelet face measures approx 12.7 mm wide, tapering to approx to 7 mm, at the clasp, and approx 4.7 mm, at the back. Ruby measures approx 5.7 x 4.7 mm (about 0.65 carats); diamonds measure approx 3.5 mm, each (about 0.34 carats total weight). Weight is 16 grams.
The color of this ruby is best represented in the third photo.
