An elegant, Art Deco era engagement ring, modeled in platinum, whose primary gem is a .80 carat Old European cut diamond (E/F, VS1). This antique diamond is held in four pairs of double-prongs. It is exceptionally white, clean, and symmetrical, with a small table, steep crown facets, and an open culet. The setting is replete with intricate decor— tiny, lip-shaped, diamond-set panels decorate its gallery, where they are joined by a feathery openwork pattern of bewitched (witch's) hearts; the ring's shoulders are decorated with trios of diamonds in shapely, hand-pierced seats, and its tapering shank is engraved with a traditional wheat pattern. The diamond seats are finished with sparkling milgrained edges, and the whole composition has a glittering, icy quality. We love this ring for its combination of delicate engraving and hand-pierced filigree! This very white old European cut diamond is a prolific sparkler and rainbow-maker.
